I put everything into my mouth

I have promised not to post pictures of my baby sister online (watch out for online creepers) but I really feel the need to share this with all of you.

Poutine Week

Mac N Shrooms

Hangover Poutine

Jack Daniels BBQ Pulled Pork Poutine

Another snow storm in town but it did not stop us from celebrating our national treasure. Actually nothing can stop us from having a messy pile of fries, gravy, and cheese curds. My friends and I brought our strechy pants to Burger Bar yesterday to celebrate Montreal's first Poutine Week ever!

The Hangover Poutine is actually their Poutine Week special. It was so good, (although even a bad poutine is still a good poutine) it left us asking for more. It is also the reason we ordered another poutine that we could barely finish. As for the second one, none of us really liked the sweetness of the pork so we all skipped that part.

Note: Poutine Week actually ended the day before but gotta have our poupou when we want!

Modavie

From all the restaurants from the HG, Modavie is my favorite. It has the best selection of main courses available and it was only 15$. On a side note, my dessert count has officially hit a new high score this week. It's time for a detox!

Vieux-Port Steakhouse

Forgot to tell Shan about our unplanned color matching outfits. Black is not even a color.

In movies when people say they are going to Canada they always end up buying heavy Eskimo coats and I'm always like wtf.

One good thing about the month of January is the "Happening Gourmand"! It is the Montreal version of the famous New York Restaurant Week. Eight restaurants offer meals ranging from $23 to $27. Thumbs up for fine dining on the cheap! It happens once a year, it is definitely an excellent way to try restaurants that you normally wouldn’t go to!

I had the Manhattan steak cut from the table d'hôte at Vieux Port Steak House. I asked for rare steak but had to change it because it was too cooked to my liking. However, they did not hesitate to give me another one but I still found it too cooked... My friends took the bacon wrapped filet mignon (I don't like bacon) and didn't have problem with their steak. In this case, one of them said it was so good she almost came...

The Third Decade Part II

 Hurricane 10$

 Green apple salmon tartare 22$

Vee meets bronzer x milky white YH

My friend picked a restaurant-bar called L'Assommoir located in Old-Montreal. This is their second restaurant. It was actually more convenient for us. For all you ladies who enjoy a good cocktail, one thing is certain, you will probably find the most exhaustive drink menu of your whole life. Yes, they have over 300 different kind of drinks to choose from. The indecisive people might even have a heart attack. I ordered a drink from their favorites page called Hurricane which is a mix of brown and white rum with passion fruit purée. As for my tartare, my friend and I both agreed that the taste of green apple was too subtle but no complaints because I love salmon. To sum up, a good night with good ambiance and good food, good music and people I like.

Ps. Really worth checking out their drinks!
